Marc, Veteran's Day today - I reread "A Simple Nod" - so true, all that you said in the poem. I saw a show yesterday where Veterans' relatives were proudly putting previously awarded Medals on their Vets and standing with them. I thought of how you honored your Dad with this poem and the Purple Heart display on the site. It truly does mean the world to the Vets to be appreciated, especially by their families, for the incredible sacrifices they made. I'm so thankful that we have such brave people among us ("you cops" included!)and such talented writers as you to honor them for us all. Eagerly awaiting your return to "The Net!"

My husband was a police officer, Agent,Lt,and Chief of Police so the policeofficers have a special place in my heart,I lost my husband Aug 14,1999 to cacer he was on the force for 32 years.I am so glad I found this site it sure brought back many memories.
